NEW YORK — Martha Stewart claims she recently attended a dinner party with Meghan Markle where the duchess shared details about an overseas family reunion with her in-laws, who happen to be the king and queen of England.

A source who claims to have attended that gathering in California says Stewart’s version of events is inaccurate, according to People.

The lifestyle content icon, 85, told People in an interview published Wednesday that Markle “had just gotten back from the palace” and was telling guests about her family’s visit with King Charles and Queen Camilla, whom her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, hadn’t seen in four years.

Stewart said she “didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words,” but knew Markle was spilling about that visit to England.

People’s insider — who’s said to have hosted the dinner — claims that’s not what happened.

“I sat next to Meghan at the dinner party, and this account of what happened is simply untrue,” that source said.” Meghan didn’t talk about her European vacation other than to say the family had a great time.”

The source added that Markle is a fan of Stewart’s and enjoyed getting to meet the New Jersey native over dinner, even if their conversation was brief.

The meeting between Markle, Prince Harry, their children and the king and queen took place in an English countryside estate. Press wasn’t invited and details have been scant.

Markle, following in Stewart’s footsteps, launched a cooking and lifestyle show on Netflix in March called “With Love, Meghan.” It ran for two seasons and will continue in the form of seasonal specials, according to E! News. The program was largely panned by critics.

Stewart had earlier told People that moving into lifestyle content might not be easy for Prince Harry’s wife.

“If you’re an actress, it’s hard to then transition to a princess and then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show,” she said. “It doesn’t sort of follow.”

Stewart has hosted successful shows about homemaking including “Martha Stewart Living” and written more than 100 books on the topic.
