Emma Roberts was walked down the aisle by her son at her wedding.

The 35-year-old actress tied the knot with Cody John at his family's ranch in Idaho recently, with her famous father Eric notably absent from the ceremony.

Eric released a statement following the nuptials, telling the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column, Eric said: "I love my daughter, always have, always will.

"It is perfectly wonderful for her to celebrate however she wants, with whomever she wants."

Now photographs from the special occasion, published by Vogue, have revealed that Emma's five-year-old Rhodes stepped in to walk her down the aisle in her dad's absence.

In one snap, Emma was seen holding onto her son's arm as they made their way down the aisle to meet her 36-year-old husband-to-be at the bottom.

She shared the image on her own Instagram page, as she captioned it: "A picture is worth a thousand words -- and in this case, a million."

Emma shares Rhodes with her former partner Garrett Hedlund.

Despite the fact that Eric wasn't at the wedding, Emma was joined by other relatives - including her famous aunt Julia Roberts - at the special occasion.

Prior to the big day, guests joined the happy couple at a rehearsal dinner held at the iconic Roundhouse restaurant on top of Bald Mountain - with attendees riding up the mountain by gondola.

She told Vogue of the evening: "All of the guests took a gondola up to the top. I rode up with Cody, my mom, and my son Rhodes, which was such a nice moment of calm before stepping into the party.

"Everyone left with a L.L. Bean goodie bag customized with 'hitched' on the side with a Wythe custom hat inside. It was so fun to see people sporting both the rest of the weekend. Some even at the wedding!"

Emma added to the magazine that the wedding itself felt as though it was "out of a book".

She said: "I feel like I'm always in a rush,. All my friends are always in a rush. My family, we're always in a rush, so to feel like people really got off their phones, were present, and that everybody I love was in one room, I can't even capture the feeling of that.

"I couldn't have dreamed it better."
