NEW YORK — Psychedelic folk singer Linda Perhacs has been reported missing.

The artist who recorded “Parallelograms” to little acclaim in 1970 before enjoying an unlikely resurgence more than three decades later was last seen by friends late last year, according to her former manager Laurel Stearns.

“Linda Perhacs our dear friend and legendary singer-songwriter was discharged from a residential care facility approximately eight months ago under the supervision of her legal guardian,” Stearns posted on Instagram.

She said associates including longtime collaborators have repeatedly tried in vain to contact the 83-year-old California native. Asked where Perhacs went missing, Stearns cryptically responded “The valley…but it’s very involved.”

Perhacs resided in an assisted living facility in California’s San Fernando Valley for the past eight years, according to Pitchfork. She was was reportedly discharged under the supervision of her caregivers who haven’t responded to her friends’ efforts to locate the singer .

“Help us find her,” reads a message posted to Perhacs Instagram page.

Stearns was managing Perhacs when she released her long awaited second album “The Soul of All Natural Things” in 2014. Her long spell without a new record ended after artists including Nas and Daft Punk drew attention to her unconventional work.

She release a third album called “I’m a Harmony” in 2017.

Stearns told Pitchfork the Los Angeles Police Department said they investigated the reported disappearance in June but could only provide information on Perhacs’ whereabouts to a family member or legal guardian.

Guitarist and record producer Fernando Perdomo posted a message on social media claiming Adult Protective Services is involved in the process to make sure Perhacs is safe.
