Craig Melvin missed the “Today” show Monday, as part of a pre-planned vacation, and Savannah Guthrie returned to the NBC morning show in the wake of last week’s racially charged intruder incident against Melvin and Al Roker.

Melvin, 47, was absent Monday for “a little family vacation,” explained his co-host Guthrie, 54, who was joined by Sheinelle Jones in Melvin’s stead.

Andrew Truelove, 41, was charged with hate crimes burglary and menacing, as well as criminal trespass and harassment after allegedly swinging at Melvin Thursday morning.

Truelove was apprehended after sneaking into Rockefeller Center’s Studio 1A to search for 71-year-old Roker. Upon failing to find the beloved correspondent, Truelove turned his attention to and used the N-word against Melvin.

In addition to Truelove’s arrest, a security guard was fired following the incident. NBC News said in a statement that there had been “no altercation, and no one was injured.”

Later Thursday, Melvin thanked concerned followers for having reached out and said he was “doing just fine.”

Melvin on Friday let viewers know that Guthrie, for her part, was out as an “early start” to the weekend ahead. Guthrie announced the day prior that she’d be absent for a “few” weeks to work on her upcoming “Wordle” game show.

Guthrie, who recently missed “Today” due to a related “assignment,” has been in the headlines for much of the year following the Feb. 1 abduction of her elderly mother Nancy.
