Taylor Swift may have a prenuptial agreement with new husband Travis Kelce which could include provisions preventing the singer from writing about their relationship in future songs.

Singer Taylor, 36 - said to be worth $2 billion - and her NFL player partner Travis, also 36, were confirmed to have married on Friday (03.07.26) in a ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York officiated by comedian Adam Sandler, and a lawyer who spoke to the Daily Mail has now claimed the pair could have had an iron-clad pre-nup in place ahead of the ceremony.

Taylor, whose record-breaking Eras Tour became the highest-grossing concert tour in history and whose catalogue includes hits such as Love Story, Anti-Hero and Shake It Off, has long been known for autobiographical songwriting.

Travis remains one of the NFL's biggest stars after winning three Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs and continues to co-host the New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Manhattan divorce attorney Jacqueline Newman discussed what she believes could have featured in a potential prenuptial agreement between the couple.

She said: "I think the pre-nup is actually going to be a pretty simple document - what's his right now will be his and what's hers is hers."

Jacqueline added: "If they put money into a joint asset using joint names, like a home, they'd both get back what they put in plus any appreciation."

The lawyer also addressed how future earnings could be treated, noting Taylor's extensive music catalogue and intellectual property portfolio.

She said: "My guess is not. Unless they decide to do something together in some capacity."

Jacqueline continued: "(Taylor) values her output greatly and I believe there will be a very clear document that says what she creates in the future is hers. Similarly, he's got creative things that he would obviously want to retain. I believe they will be very respectful."

Taylor's songwriting has frequently drawn attention because of lyrics fans have associated with former relationships. Songs including Dear John have long been linked by listeners to John Mayer, while Is It Over Now? has been widely associated with Harry Styles.

Getaway Car followed the end of Taylor's relationship with Calvin Harris, while So Long, London was released after the end of her relationship with Joe Alwyn.

Jacqueline said: "Potentially there could be something in a pre-nup that would hamper her doing similar because it's kind of her signature."

She added: "Legal documents can have all sorts of language that talks about confidentiality, but also restricts her from writing or singing about anything that reflects on him."

Jacqueline continued: "There are ways you can get round it with creative license, because you can only draft so much and everyone's probably going to know what she's talking about, even if it is described very differently."

The lawyer added: "But there can definitely be language to make attempts to try to avoid her being able to do that."

According to the Mail, Taylor's wealth and future earnings are expected to significantly exceed those of Travis despite his successful NFL career.

The publication reported Taylor continues to generate substantial income through streaming, touring, merchandising and business partnerships, having also regained ownership of the masters of her first six studio albums in a widely reported deal earlier this year.

The publication also reported Taylor owns an extensive property portfolio across the United States, including homes in New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee and California, together with a Dassault Falcon 7X private jet.

Travis has earned more than $100 million during his NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to the Daily Mail, while also expanding his business interests through endorsement deals, the New Heights podcast with Jason and restaurant venture 1587 Prime alongside Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Florida family lawyer Brian Karpf also told the Mail that he expected the couple's assets to remain largely separate.

He said: "This is pretty straightforward in light of their respective wealth. It makes things simpler."

Brian added: "Perhaps they do some joint ventures, but I would suspect most of their estates would remain separate. I believe all her future earnings are going to remain her separate property. That is likely to be carved out at this point."

Discussing confidentiality, Brian said: "Maybe they could have some language that talks about not getting into intimate details. It's possible, but it's hard to police."
