Major Northern California music festival changes locations for 2026

SAN JOSE, Calif. — High Sierra Music Festival is moving to a new home in 2026.

The 34th annual edition of this popular festival, which focuses on improvisational, funk, roots and various styles of jam band music, takes place at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley. It had been previously held at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in Quincy.

This year’s festival runs July 2-5 and features Steel Pulse, the Word, Don Was and the Pan-Detroit Ensemble, Eggy, Judith Hill, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and many others.
