'IS GOD IS'

Rated R for strong/bloody violence and language.

What it’s about: Twin sisters set off on a revenge road trip to enact vengeance on their abusive father.

The kid attractor factor: This is a Southern noir — bleak, violent and dark. Not for kids.

Good lessons/bad lessons: It's a challenge to escape our circumstances and destinies, but it can be done.

Violence: Some bloody, violent scenarios and images — murder, abuse, beatings, etc.

Language: Swearing throughout.

Sex: References to sex, and sexual scenarios.

Drugs: Onscreen marijuana use.

Parents’ advisory: Too dark and violent for kids. OK for mature teens.

'OBSESSION'

 

Rated R for strong bloody violence, grisly images, sexual content, pervasive language, and brief graphic nudity.

What it’s about: A young man makes a wish that his female friend will love him, but he's not prepared for the depths of obsession that his wish enacts.

The kid attractor factor: Teens might be drawn to this horror film, but this is too dark and violent for kids.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Be careful what you wish for.

Violence: Extreme bloody violence and murder, self-harm, etc. Beating, shooting, stabbing. Grisly bloody images and dead bodies.

Language: Swearing throughout.

Sex: A couple of sex scenes and one image of graphic nudity.

Drugs: Drinking and marijuana use.

Parents’ advisory: Way too violent for kids. OK for mature teens.
