“Days of our Lives” actor Patrick Muldoon had been suffering from hereditary coagulopathy disorder, a condition that affects blood clotting, which ultimately contributed to his death, per his death certificate.

According to the document, a pulmonary embolism — when a blood clot travels to the lungs and blocks blood flow — was also a contributing factor. His official cause of death was listed as myocardial infarction, more commonly known as a heart attack, US Weekly reported.

Muldoon died on April 19, and his agent confirmed the news the following day. He was 57 years old.

The actor’s sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, told TMZ her brother was discovered unconscious in a bathroom where he was showering inside his Beverly Hills home. His girlfriend found him on the floor shortly after they had coffee together, she said.

His sudden death came just two days he revealed on Instagram that he would star alongside Chris Hemsworth, Taron Egerton, Zazie Beetz, and Alec Baldwin in the upcoming film “Kockroach.” Muldoon wrote in the caption that he was “so excited” to be apart of the project.

Muldoon is best known for starring as Austin Reed on “Days of Our Lives.” He appeared on the beloved soap opera from 1992 to 1995 before making his exit, then returned 16 years later, again appearing on the show from 2011 to 2012. His other credits include playing Jeffrey Hunter on “Saved by the Bell,” Richard Hart on “Melrose Place,” and Zander Barcalow on “Starship Troopers.”
