Zayn Malik's family have asked fans to stop sending flowers after he was hospitalised with a mystery illness.

The 33-year-old star shared a photo last week in a hospital bed and pulled out of events promoting his new album Konnakol, and now his cousin Sasha Malik has made a plea to his supporters after an overwhelming amount of bouquets were sent.

She wrote on her Instagram Story on Wednesday (29.04.26): "We're so grateful for everyone who has reached out to send bouquets!

"Logistically, it just simply can't work, but we appreciate you all so much please donate anything you'd like on Zayn's behalf to The Palestine Project!"

She also included a statement from The Hidden Bouquet florist, which is based in the North West.

The note reads: "Due to the high volume of requests for Zayn Mailk and his family, we are unfortunately no longer able to take any further orders at this time.

"We truly appreciate the love and support show. If you would still like to make a meaningful gesture, the Malik family would greatly appreciate donations being made to the Palestine Project via the link below.

"You are welcome to donate the amount you would have spent on a bouquet and leave a message of support there.

"The fundraiser will be checked by the family and your kind words and contributions will go a long way."

Two weeks ago, former One Direction star Zayn revealed his unspecified health scare on his own Instagram Story.

He wrote at the time: "To my fans - thank you to all of you for your love and support now and always - been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering.

"Heartbroken that I can't see you all this week, I wouldn't be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding.

"Thank you to the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologist, management, admin and everyone who has helped along the way and continue to. You are all legends! Big big love xx z. (sic)"

Zayn - who was due to attend an album playback session - hasn't shared any further details about his health issues.

Among the appearances he was forced to miss as a planned interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

According to a source cited by PEOPLE magazine, he wasn't "able to due to doctor's recommendations", while the insider added: "He's still working through his health issues."

Zayn is expected to begin a tour in May at the AO Arena in Manchester, with dates scheduled through to November, concluding in Miami.

The singer has been promoting both the album and tour through social media in recent weeks.

Zayn has a daughter, Khai, five, with model Gigi Hadid and his most recent tour, the Stairway to the Sky shows, stretched from November 2024 to March 2025.

During that period, his former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne died at the age of 31.

Zayn temporarily paused the tour before returning to the stage, where he paid tribute to the singer.
