Eminem celebrates 18 years of sobriety; Big Sean, others offer support

Eminem is celebrating 18 years of getting sober.
The Detroit rapper commemorated his 18th anniversary of sobriety on Monday by posting a photo of his newly earned sobriety coin.
"XVIII," he posted, along with an emoji of a medal. The picture showed him holding up the coin while wearing a T-shirt featuring the cover of D-Nice's 1991 album "To Tha Rescue."
The comments on his post were full of supporters, from Questlove to Flavor Flav to Big Sean, who said "yessir! Keep it up" to his multiple-time collaborator.
D-Nice weighed in and zeroed in on Eminem's apparel. "Congrats my man! BTW, Nice t-shirt!" he wrote.
Eminem's sobriety dates back to 2008. On "Bagpipes from Baghdad," a song off his 2009 "Relapse" album, he raps, "I just got my one year sobriety coin chip / when the bad get going, how bad does the going get?"
He detailed his struggles with drugs and alcohol in many songs, as well as in his 2025 documentary, "Stans."
Last week, Eminem became a grandfather for the second time, after his daughter Alaina gave birth to her first child.
