A report that Kendall Jenner was spotted “making out” with Jacob Elordi at Justin Bieber‘s Coachella after-party Saturday night has many buzzing about Hollywood’s hot new couple — and about Elordi at risk of becoming the latest male celebrity to become caught up in the Kardashian fame machine.

First off, an “insider” on the Jenner/Elordi situation has cautioned that the “Wuthering Heights” actor is not looking for a lasting romance with the supermodel, whatever they got up to at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the Daily Mail reported.

“Nobody should hold their breath on (them) becoming the next celeb it couple,” the insider said. “Late at night at Coachella isn’t usually the place to start a new love.”

Saturday night’s reported make-out session was revealed on the celebrity gossip page Deuxmoi. Revelers at the music festival in the Indio desert told Deuxmoi that they saw Jenner, 30, and Elordi, 28, “enjoying each other’s company at the Bieber after-party, making out and all over each other.”

The insider acknowledged that “there is a flirtation” between them, but that any fling isn’t likely to last, due to “his schedule and ego.”

Indeed, Elordi is coming off a pretty busy year, which included him enjoying the acclaim of becoming an Oscar nominee. While Elordi was busy promoting his star turn as the smoldering romantic lead in the hit film, “Wuthering Heights,” he also was campaigning to win a supporting actor Academy Award for playing the Creature in Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein (2025).” More recently, he put in an appearance at the Season 3 premiere of “Euphoria” last week. He’s back playing Nate Jacobs in the HBO teen drama.

Meanwhile, Elordi has proven to be rather elusive in his personal life. He has been linked to some other high-profile women, including Kaia Gerber. Since 2021, he’s also been involved in an on-off romance with Olivia Jade Giannulli, the influencer best known for her role as Lori Loughlin’s daughter in the Varsity Blues college admissions scandal.

For her part, Jenner also has yet to settle down with anyone long-term. Her famous boyfriends have included NBA stars Devin Booker and Ben Simmons, as well as rapper Bad Bunny.

Jenner also has a history of being caught in make-out sessions at celebrity parties. Back in 2018, she and Anwar Hadid, the brother of supermodel friends Gigi and Bella Hadid, were seen “furiously locking lips” at a New York Fashion Week week party, Page Six reported at the time. As with her reported make-out session with Elordi, Jenner’s canoodling with Hadid didn’t lead to anything serious.

Over on Deuxmoi, followers debated the significance of this report about Jenner and Elordi.

One person declared that the make-out session never happened. “He was in the crowd nowhere near her!!!” Others liked the idea of a romance between the two, with one person saying, “They’re so equally hot honestly good for them.”

Another follower stirred the pot by suggesting that Elordi could ruin his credibility as a serious actor by getting involved with a member of Kardashian/Jenner family. She compared this situation to the backlash Timothée Chalamet has faced — possibly including his loss of a best actor Oscar two years in a row — because he’s in a relationship with Kylie Jenner, Kendall’s younger sister.

“Unpopular opinion,” this person said. “If (the romance is) true, it chips away at the prestige Jacob Elordi has built as an actor. And honestly, Timothée Chalamet hasn’t exactly done himself any favors in that regard either.”

To that, someone said, “The fact that people like you will try to de-legitimize someone’s talent as an actor based on who they’re dating, is bonkers.” Others said it was “misogynistic” to suggest that Elordi would be dating beneath him if he started a romance with Jenner.

Still others brought up the legendary “Kardashian curse” — the idea that men suffer personal or professional setbacks in the course of dating women from this family.

But the person who originally posted the “unpopular opinion” defended it by explaining: “I’m just tired of seeing celebrities whose entire brand is built on plastic surgery to change their appearance, without much else to back it up. And let’s not pretend their fame didn’t start from controversy and reality TV—it’s wild to me how that’s been turned into this level of influence.”

“At least Jacob Elordi has real talent,” the person concluded. “Either way, I hope he finds someone who challenges him, not someone performative for the attention economy.”
