Kanye West played Queen classic Bohemian Rhapsody as Kim Kardashian gave birth to their daughter North.

The Kardashians star, 45, has opened up about the moment the former couple welcomed their first child back in 2013 and revealed her former husband was in charge of the playlist - with the rapper putting on a classic track for North's arrival.

During an appearance on her sister Khloe Kardashian's Khloe In Wonderland podcast, Kim explained: "She [North] knew what she wanted since the moment she was born.

"Getting born to the song Bohemian Rhapsody. [Sister] Kourtney and I talk about this all the time. Kanye was DJing, so he put on Bohemian Rhapsody for the moment she came out.

"And isn't it so her [North]? Kourtney and I cry laughing thinking of this moment and how it's just so like her, you know? That's such a weird fact. When I listen to it, I just, like get [emotional]."

As well as North, 10, Kim is also mother to Saint, 10, Chicago, eight, and six-year-old Psalm with ex-husband Kanye.

During the podcast, the TV star also revealed she's been encouraging North to follow her interests with "realistic courses" such as a brand-building class.

Kim explained: "She had an idea of making hats and making jewellery ... so we made it a course. It's been so fun to see her blossom."

North is also taking a course in music, which has helped her "bond" with her father.

Kim said: "The music side and the producing isn't my thing, and that's her bonding with her dad... But we have to communicate about how North moves through this world.

"Respecting [Kanye's] opinion on the things that go on with his kids is really important."

The Skims founder also dismissed the idea that she views her eldest daughter as her "bestie". She said: "I think like the one misconception that people might have is like, 'Oh, she's trying to be her bestie and lets her get away with a lot.' Like, no, Northy actually has a lot of rules ...

""[Her appearance is] one area I do let her express herself. I love her for that, and she would do it, you know, regardless...

"It's funny, like people are like, 'Oh, this blue hair, all of this, all of a sudden,' or like her fake piercings that she puts up.

"I have pictures of her when we're in first grade [and] pre-K, where she'd come with like a fake septum ring and she has her green braids and she has pink braids. But she's always loved the coloured braids in her hair since she was little."
