South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace is calling for the public execution of Lindsay Clancy, a Massachusetts mom accused of killing all three of her children back in 2023.

“Her children are dead, she should be dead too,” the Republican rep told TMZ.

“She should get the death penalty. It should be public, it should be a public execution,” she continued, adding that Clancy “deserves nothing less.”

“It could be by firearm, it could be electric chair, I don’t really care,” the lawmaker said. “She’s a serial killer.”

By definition, a serial killer is someone who murders two or more people during separate events, with gaps of time in between. Clancy’s case could be classified as filicide — a parent killing their own children — or a triple homicide.

Mace further noted that a public execution would serve as a “warning to women everywhere — you don’t kill your kids.”

Her declaration came just more than week after Clancy’s trial for the murders of her children ended in a mistrial. A lone juror single-handedly prevented a unanimous not-guilty verdict in the case, splitting the panel 11-1 on whether to find Clancy not guilty due to mental illness following a seven-week, high-profile trial in a Massachusetts.

For her part, Clancy did not deny killing her children — Cora, 5, Dawson 3, and Callan, 8 months — but her lawyers contended that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time of their deaths.

Prosecutors, meanwhile, argued that she was still aware of her actions.
