You’re not seeing things — Florida’s gas prices dropped over 35 cents in the last 10 days, although they remain above $4 a gallon.

On Monday, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas was $4.06, according to AAA.

The national average remained above that, at $4.37.

The decline is saving drivers roughly $5 to $7 per fill-up compared to prices seen just over a week ago, according to AAA.

AAA linked the price drops to a decrease in oil prices, which came down nearly 10% in the past two weeks.

“The G7’s decision to release 100 million barrels from emergency reserves, along with improving oil exports from the Middle East, helped calm supply concerns,” a AAA news release said. “As a result, crude fell from above $100 per barrel in mid-September to $91.11 on Friday.”

Even with the double-digit drop, the price for gas remains higher than before: 26 cents more than a week earlier, 14 cents more than a month ago and $1.03 more than a year ago.

The price on Monday was $4.26 in Palm Beach County, $4.17 in Broward County, $4.15 in Miami-Dade County and $4.38 in Monroe County.

The most expensive metropolitan markets were West Palm Beach-Boca Raton at $4.28, Gainesville at $4.23 and Fort Lauderdale at $4.18 a gallon.

The least expensive markets were all in the panhandle, with Pensacola at $3.92, Panama City at $3.93 and Crestview-Fort Walton Beach at $3.95 a gallon.
