Auto review: '26 Cadillac Escalade Sport rules the roads
Published in Business News
While General Motors continues to deliver great trucks and now electric vehicles to the average consumer, it’s clear that its top-tier luxury/sport brand Cadillac stands out above them all, ruling the roads and continuing to make strides.
Its flagship SUV, the Cadillac Escalade is back in 2026 and a behemoth it still is.
Our week-long tester, a Escalade Sport in Black Raven, was exceptional in luxury and style. Its comfort exceeds even a Chevrolet Suburban with its top-tier luxury seats and interior finishes.
Our tester had no additional options; it was nice to see a standard “base” model for a change without a slew of upgrades. Riding on 22-inch six-spoke alloy wheels, the Escalade came with magnetic ride control, a 55-inch interior display, AKG Studio 21-speaker audio system and a heads-up display, which were just a few of the standard features we enjoyed.
The Escalade Sport comes with Super Cruise, General Motors’ autonomous driving system, which is great.
Powered by a 6.2-liter V-8 engine producing 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, the Escalade has plenty of power and get up and go. A 10-speed automatic transmission is also standard. Three model options are available, in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, including the Luxury, Sport and Platinum models, while a significantly powerful upgraded V-series model is available as well.
Cadillac has done a great job in recent years with its luxury fleet. Although a wide variety of upgrades have hit home for both the gas and EV models, the Escalade in its recent updates proves why this flagship model stands out the most. Notable for exceeding customer expectations and longevity, the Cadillac Escalade is big and brawny and really ready to tackle the road ahead.
