The Detroit Pistons opened their two-game series against the Washington Wizards with a 130-117 victory inside Capital One Arena on Tuesday night. Cade Cunningham played just five minutes in the first quarter before leaving the game due to back spasms. However, the Pistons received a major boost from their All-Star big man, Jalen Duren.

Duren recorded his seventh game of the season with 30 or more points, finishing with a career-best 36 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the field. His scoring performance coincided with his 35th double-double of the season with 12 rebounds.

Daniss Jenkins contributed in the absence of Cunningham by adding 15 points, six assists, two steals and a block for the Pistons (49-19). Tobias Harris has added 13 points and six rebounds.

Bub Carrington led the Wizards (16-52) with 30 points.
