Does God care for people who disregard Him completely?

Q: I know that God takes care of His own, but does He care for people who reject Him and disregard Him completely? – D.G.
A: The Bible says that God has not left Himself without testimony. He has shown kindness by giving everyone “rain from heaven and fruitful seasons” (Acts 14:17, NKJV). Scripture also tells us, “Since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power” (Romans 1:20, NKJV).
Examine a drop of water through a powerful microscope to behold God’s concern for even the smallest detail. Inspect a newborn baby’s hands and feet and marvel at the intricacy of His design. It’s been said that the human body contains about 37 trillion cells, each one containing a strand of our individual DNA, an unimaginable number. Or think about the way plants grow and rain falls and animals provide for their young, and you will see God’s wisdom and care. Even when we look within ourselves, we detect God’s handiwork. Our creativity, our inner senses, our ability to love and to reason – all bear witness to the fact that God created us in His image and cares about every level of His creation. No matter where we look, we see God’s footprints and fingerprints.
God speaks to us through His Word. Some believe it and live every day by faith in His absolute promises. Others totally reject Him. Tragic. But it doesn’t change the fact that God is complete in Himself; He lacks nothing. Yet His love compelled Him to create humanity. His love was expressed in the creation of the human race. We can reject Him or accept Him. For the wise, there is only one choice – receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
