Will you join the fight to restore your children's health?

By Michael Roizen, M.D. on

Almost 15% of 2- to 5-year-old kids in this country are obese -- and that's propelling them toward a difficult future that's loaded with hugely increased risks of everything from depression and diabetes to premature heart disease, cancers and social problems. And overall, 21% of U.S. children and teenagers ages 2 to 19 have obesity and are on their way to obesity-related diseases and premature disabilities.

This is not only harming many kids, but it's also damaging their ability to lead the world in productivity, scientific research, and hope -- and that's damaging this country's future. Not to mention ... how are we going to deal with health care expenses that will drown us if we don't take steps to restore the good health of every child (and adult).

Making improvements requires you -- and you and you -- make a commitment to upgrading how your family eats, cooks, works out and supports one another. And it takes a commitment to upgrading quality-of-life issues that affect society at large: improving school food, making fresh fruits and vegetables available in food deserts, and making sure that the food supply in the U.S. shifts from highly processed, obesity-creating junk to healthy fruits, vegetables, proteins, fats and 100% whole grains.

Let's start working together to create the changes that are needed to accomplish this. Talk to me and others at michaelfroizenmd.substack.com. Let us know your ideas, your challenges, your worries. Together, we can transform your children's (and your) future. The Obesity Coalition at obesityaction.org and 4YOUngevity.com are committed to helping you every step of the way.
