White to Play

Pete Tamburro on

Published in Chess Puzzles

Yet another really early problem composer. They weren’t into artistry as today’s are. They were more into sequencing of moves, which often included sacrifices. Many, many of them had “White king on the brink of destruction” situations as in this problem with the threat of mate on h1. These are quaint, but fun!
