This last Christmas gift guide is concentrated on gifts for the person with a home office or computer desk.

There are gifts here for all ages and price ranges.

I especially loved trying out the reMarkable tablet and the Pitaka case.

Terramaster F4-425 4-Bay NAS

If you have a household full of computer users, chances are you could benefit from a network-attached storage device like the Terramaster F4-425.

This is an enclosure that holds up to four hard drives, and makes that storage available to everyone on your home network. You can use the space to store your files, backup your computers or phones and even stream your ripped movies and music files via apps like Plex.

The F4-425 can hold up to four 30 terabyte drives for a total capacity of 120TB. It has an Intel Celeron N5095 processor and four gigabytes of DDR4 RAM. It connects to your network via 2.5GbE ethernet for very fast file transfers. It can even encode and decode 4K video.

It has apps to let you make local backups of your cloud files from Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox. It can also store and organize all your digital photos and videos.

You can set up the NAS with just your phone, via Terramaster’s TNAS Mobile app.

The F4-425 costs $369.99 from terramaster.com or Amazon and it does not include any storage. You provide your own hard drives.

reMarkable Paper Plus Move writing tablet

Some people like to take notes on their computer, while others still prefer a pen and paper.

reMarkable is a company that makes e-ink tablets that let you write on the screen with a stylus and save and sync that written content to your phone or computer. Think of it as an endless notepad.

There are larger models, but the Paper Plus Move is reMarkable’s first smaller writing tablet, with a 7.3-inch color e-ink screen that’s about the size of a paperback book or small legal pad.

E-ink tablets are incredibly easy on their batteries. The Paper Plus Move can last up to two weeks on a charge and it can recharge in just 45 minutes.

reMarkable tablets let the user take notes, then convert that handwriting to editable text, and organize that text to make it easily searchable.

It can wirelessly connect to cloud storage services like Google Drive and OneDrive and Dropbox.

The Paper Plus starts at $449 with the basic stylus from remarkable.com.

Acer Nitro PG16Q P gaming monitor

I’m a big proponent of using more than one monitor for work. In fact, I have four monitors on my desk, but that’s overkill.

When I’m using my laptop at home or on the road, a portable monitor can make all the difference in feeling like I’ve got enough room to get actual work done.

The Acer Nitro PG16Q P Gaming monitor fits nicely in my backpack along with my MacBook Air and it has a 15.6-inch display with a 156Hz refresh rate for ultra-fast game response along with a brightness of 220 Nit and a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (full HD).

If your laptop supports it, you can connect the monitor with a single USB-C cable. It also has a mini-HDMI port. The monitor can also connect to a camera or even your smartphone.

This is one of those great gadgets that just works. There aren’t a lot of bells and whistles, just plug it in and get on with your work or your gaming.

The Acer Nitro PG16Q P Gaming monitor costs $179.99 from Acer or Amazon or Best Buy.

Wacom Intuos Pro Medium

If you are a graphic artist or photographer or digital illustrator, you already know how great a tablet can be for artwork or photo retouching.

Wacom has been the leader in digital tablets for decades and this year, the Intuos Pro Medium is their current flagship tablet.

The Intuos Pro Medium uses the Pro Pen 3, which offers 8,192 pressure levels and tilt support for very smooth writing that responds to both angle and pressure changes.

It has a 16:9 format to mimic most monitors and a large 8.1 inch by 11.4 inch active area.

It is at home on your desk, or it's ready for the road. Just toss it in your bag and go. It can connect to your computer via USB or wirelessly via Bluetooth. It has a rechargeable battery that can power it for up to 16 hours of wireless use.

The “medium” in the name refers to the size. There are also small and large versions of the Intuos Pro.

The Wacom Intuos Pro Medium costs $379.95 and it's available from Wacom.com.

Pitaka iPhone 17 Pro Max Edge case

One last gift idea is the Pitaka Edge Case, which comes in several different color options for your phones.

I used the Edge case for the iPhone 17 Pro Max in 600D Black/Grey Twill, which is a carbon fiber look.

This is a very thin plastic shell that covers the back and corners of your phone adding very little bulk (next to none). There are bulkier cases that might provide more drop protection. This case is better suited for scratch protection and mild drop protection.

The thinness also works well for letting the case and iPhone slip in and out of my pockets easily.

This case has a metal charging template built into the back so MagSafe accessories stick really well.

It is available for $59.99 from ipitaka.com and it’s well worth the price.
