Auto review: 2025 Jeep Wagoneer packs a comfy price tag
Published in Business News
Expanding its focus to larger vehicles such as the Grand Cherokee L and now flagship Wagoneer, Jeep offers more options but has lost some focus on the off-road aura so cherished by its consumer base.
Our tester this week is a 2025 Jeep Wagoneer Series II Overland 4×4 wrapped in Velvet Red Pearlcoat. Despite the allure of this extraordinary red, the Wagoneer’s boxy exterior won't appeal to everyone. The eight-seat interior is comfortable for all passengers and boasts great legroom and style while still fitting everything inside.
In the same class as the Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon and even the Ford Expedition, the Wagoneer comes with a $66K base price that climbs to more than $80K with our Overland test model. As people-moving has become the rage with Jeep, the Wagoneer certainly has the storage and space consumers demand.
Stuffed with an array of optional equipment, as well as the red pearl paint, $5,795 Customer Preferred Package, $4,345 Convenience Group, $995 eight-passenger seating package and a Finishing Package for an additional $795, our tester boasted upgraded seats, 20-inch wheels, black exterior accents, air-suspension, off-road items such as skid plates and an on-demand transfer case. Standard items on the Wagoneer II Overland include a 10.25-inch cluster display and the Uconnect 10.1-inch touch screen display and five-year/60,000 mile warranty for powertrain.
Jeep and parent company Stellantis have been a staple in Grasso’s Garage for many years, garnering chart-topping awards for the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee in the past. But it seems Jeep has drifted away from its devoted fan base who loves the Wrangler and budget-friendly Cherokee models, now focusing on upper-luxury clientele with the Grand Cherokee L, Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, with prices rising significantly since the COVID-19 pandemic.
