Golden Knights fall behind early against Sabres, lose 3rd straight
Published in Hockey
The Vegas Golden Knights had to rally from a multigoal deficit again, but couldn’t complete the comeback in a 3-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center on Tuesday.
Ivan Barbashev and Pavel Dorofeyev scored 1:37 apart after the Knights (28-19-14) trailed 3-0 early in the second period, but they lost their third straight game and three of four since returning from the Winter Olympic break.
Goaltender Akira Schmid kept the Knights in the game with 25 saves, but they dropped to 1-3 on their five-game road trip that concludes Wednesday in Detroit.
The Knights were without captain Mark Stone, who is day to day with an upper-body injury suffered in Sunday’s 5-0 loss in Pittsburgh.
