Marner's hat trick leads Golden Knights to win over Flames

LAS VEGAS — Mitch Marner recorded his first hat trick with the Vegas Golden Knights in a 6-3 win over the Calgary Flames at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday.
Marner added two assists for a season-high five points, as the Knights (34-26-16) improved to 2-0 under new coach John Tortorella.
Pavel Dorofeyev scored his team-leading 35th goal, and Brett Howden and Ivan Barbashev added two goals in a span of 2:40 in the third period.
Goaltender Carter Hart made 19 saves in his return to the lineup after missing nearly three months with a lower-body injury.
The start of the third period was delayed for 25 minutes because of issues with the ice on Calgary’s side of the rink.
The Knights’ TV broadcast reported that the zamboni scraped the ice and created a hole near the City of Las Vegas sponsorship decal.
