Patriots not ruling out A.J. Brown, two other key players for Week 6

FOXBORO, Mass. — Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel left the door open for wide receiver A.J. Brown, left tackle Will Campbell and running back TreVeyon Henderson to play Sunday against the Jets.
The Patriots would have to activate Brown, who suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 1, off injured reserve by Saturday at 4 p.m. in order for him to play in Week 6.
It sounds like Campbell (knee) and Henderson (ankle) will both be listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup with the Jets.
It’s something of a surprise that all three players are this close to suiting up. Brown’s injury was initially expected to keep him out six weeks. He’s missed four games after suffering the injury just over five weeks ago.
Henderson confirmed Friday that his MRI showed a high ankle sprain. He was surprised that he was able to practice on Wednesday, just three days after suffering the injury.
“I felt a little bit different than what they diagnosed it as and what the MRI showed,” Henderson said Friday. “I’m hoping that I’m able to be out there with the guys and try to help this team continue in games.”
Henderson added, “God willing, I’m hoping that I’m able to play.”
If Brown can’t suit up, then the Patriots will still have Romeo Doubs, Efton Chism, DeMario Douglas and Kyle Williams available at wide receiver. Caleb Lomu would likely fill in for Campbell at left tackle, though Vrabel also said that they’ll decide Saturday if backup tackle Marcus Bryant (ankle) can be activated off of injured reserve.
Corey Kiner would take on a bigger role behind starting running back Rhamondre Stevenson if Henderson can’t play. Lan Larison would likely also be elevated off of the practice squad.
