Do Just One Thing
Before reaching for bleach, let the sun do the work. Hang damp or musty towels loosely on a clothesline or drying rack in direct sunlight for 1 to 2 hours, flipping them halfway through so both sides get equal UV exposure. The sun's ultraviolet rays help kill odor-causing bacteria and mold spores, while fresh air naturally eliminates lingering musty smells. Just remember: Putting a dirty towel in direct sunlight won't magically remove deep-seated grime or built-up detergent residue -- it works best on clean, freshly washed towels that just need a natural refresh.
