Auto review: 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E delivers upscale electric vibes

Entering Grasso’s Garage this week is an EV that values aggressive styling as much as neck-snapping acceleration.

Wrapped in Ford’s stunning Glacier Gray Metallic paint, our Mustang Mach-E GT eAWD tester skip-stepped right over the hiccups of typical EVs.

This all-electric Mustang hits consumers with presence, featuring an upscale black grille shield, body-colored wheel arches and imposing 20-inch monochromatic high-gloss black wheels and Brembo brakes.

Torque from electric vehicles tends to be instantaneous, and in this respect the Mach-E GT does not disappoint. Powered by an extended-range 91-kWh lithium-ion battery alongside dual-motor electronic all-wheel drive, this combo produces 480 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. You can touch the 15.5-inch vertical center stack touchscreen and put it in unbridled mode, which gives you more power, and the GT rockets from 0 to 60 mph in a blistering 3.8 seconds.

The power delivery is immediate, violent and highly addictive.

On the inside, the aesthetically appealing cockpit is modern and simple while hitting the tech demands of today’s consumers. The sync 4A system pushes wireless Apple CarPlay flawlessly, while the GT-specific sport performance seats are wrapped in ActiveX material with Miko suede inserts. A 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system delivers concert-like vibes.

Rear headroom is a concern for tall passengers, owing to the rear-sloping exterior, but for most daily drivers, this is not an issue.

With Ford continuing production on the Mach-E, there is clearly a market still in place for the all-electric nameplate. Providing track-ready performance for daily drivers looking for that extra slice of speed with a premium look, Ford has a massive win on its hands.
