Auto review: '27 Kia Telluride gets 'impressive' overhaul
Published in Automotive News
As Kia continues to shock the consumer market with nicely appointed vehicles in every market, the 2027 Telluride hits the ground running with Range Rover vibes, excellent comfort and design.
With a sub-$60,000 base price, the Kia Telluride delivers the wow factor for many drivers.
Our tester, a 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid X-Line SX-Prestige AWD wrapped in Black Jade Green, which is Kia’s closest take on the British Racing Green used in the famous Jaguar Land Rover lineup, was really nice and luxurious.
The Telluride had comfortable seating for seven people, offered easy rear-seat access with a push of a button, and was even comfortable for third-row passengers, making it a great option for all ages.
Powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged hybrid powertrain producing 329 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque, the Telluride had a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive with self-leveling rear suspension.
Our upgraded X-Line SX-Prestige weeklong tester included 21-inch gloss black alloy wheels, LED fog lights, liftgate lamp and black emblems, which came standard and were included in the price.
Also standard on our tester was a nice 12.3-inch dual panoramic screen that was simple to use. Additional standard items offered included Navigation, SiriusXM, a Meridian Premium Audio System and digital rear view mirror and dual wireless phone charger. Heated and ventilated front and second-row seats and dual sunroofs were also standard. Heads up display was also included and a great feature.
Upgrades included the Jade Green paint, towing package, floor mats and cargo accessories, totaling just over $2,000.
With the 2027 Telluride, Kia has hit the ball out of the park. Its Range Rover-like exterior aesthetics stand out exceptionally and the X-Line and SX-Prestige features are second to none. For a $60K price tag, this is easily a standout in the consumer market today.
Impressed is an understatement, as Kia continues to prove to other manufacturers that it is possible to build an exceptional seven-passenger SUV that looks good and rides even better.
