Here’s our last Henri Rinck for a while. As with the last puzzle, the coordination of the queen and knight is remarkable.


Obviously, both sides queening right away doesn’t help White, so White’s knight forces a Black king move that avoids the fork check if Black should try queening. 1.Ng2 Kd2 2.a8=Q f1=Q 3.Qa2+ Kc3 4.Qa3+ Kd4 5.Qc5+ Ke4 If 5...Kd3 6.Qb5+ Kc3 7.Qxf1 wins the queen and mates shortly 6.Qd5#
