An exercise in geometry and being able to use the two powers of the queen—being able to move like a bishop and attack like a rook or move like a rook and attack like a bishop.


A composition by J. Halumbirek: 1.Qh8 Bc6 2.Qc3 Be3 3.Qxc6 Ba7 4.Qxd5# Being able to attack the bishop was the key to mastering that fatal diagonal.
