Civilian dies after sustaining injuries at Joint Base Andrews, Air Force says

BALTIMORE — A civilian died at Joint Base Andrews on Tuesday from injuries sustained during an incident on the base campground, an Air Force news release said.
The Air Force said the isolated incident occurred at approximately 12:50 p.m. Emergency personnel responded to the scene, but the civilian died from their injuries, the military branch added.
There is no active threat to the surrounding community in Prince George’s County, the Air Force said. They added that base operations were not affected and will continue as planned.
The identity of the civilian will not be released until after notification of next of kin, the Air Force said.
The cause behind the incident is currently under investigation by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.
