Tip: Cut Back Chrysanthemums

After flowering, cut back chrysanthemum plants to a few inches from the soil. Compost cuttings, and in colder areas, mulch plants with a 4 to 6 inch layer of chopped leaves and or bark to help the plants survive winter.
