LEXINGTON, Ky. — Tickets for the 2026 Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland are mostly sold out, meaning fans without tickets already will likely be watching the world championships for thoroughbred racing from home.
All 14 of the championship races will be broadcast on NBC, Peacock and USA Network during the two-day event. Friday’s races primarily feature 2-year-old thoroughbreds, while the second day of racing features thoroughbreds 3 years or older.
Coverage on Friday will start at 1 p.m. on USA Network just before the start of the first race of the Breeders’ Cup, the Filly & Mare Sprint. USA Network will broadcast the entire day’s races through 6 p.m.
On Saturday, coverage will start on at 1 p.m. on USA Network before shifting over to NBC at 3:30 p.m. The broadcast will continue through 6:30 p.m. to include the headliner of the championships, the Grade 1, $7 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic.
The other races that will be featured on NBC’s broadcast include the Grade 1, $2 million Cygames Breeders’ Cup Sprint, the Grade 1, $2 million FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile, the Grade 1, $2 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff and the Grade 1, $5 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf.
All the races can also be watched on Peacock, FanDuel TV and the Breeders’ Cup social media webpages.
“Consumer viewing habits continue to evolve, particularly around live sports, and fans increasingly expect to be able to watch premium content on the platforms and devices they use every day,” Justin McDonald, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for the Breeders’ Cup, said in a news release. “Our expanded distribution strategy reflects that shift by meeting fans where and how they want to consume live content — across traditional broadcast television, streaming, digital and social platforms.”
This will be the fourth time Lexington has hosted the Breeders’ Cup. The previous editions at Keeneland took place in 2015, 2020 and 2022.
More than $34 million in purses and awards will be on offer at this year’s Breeders’ Cup. Every race is capped at 14 horses, except the turf sprint and juvenile turf sprint, which is capped at 12.
Only general admission tickets for Friday’s races are available. General admission tickets start at $85.
