The Vegas Golden Knights rallied to earn a point, but lost 3-2 in a shootout to the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Monday.

Boston captain David Pastrnak scored the lone goal in the shootout in the third round.

Captain Mark Stone scored for the second straight game, and forward Trevor Connelly scored after leaving the game momentarily due to injury.

Goaltender Carter Hart made 25 saves after missing the last two starts with a lower-body injury.

The Knights (9-5-2) lost for the fifth time in six games.

Knights forward Braeden Bowman was ejected in the second period for elbowing Boston forward Matthew Poitras.

Bruins forward Morgan Geekie scored on the ensuing five-minute power play to give Boston a 2-0 lead.

Stone scored his team-leading 10th goal eight seconds into a power play to make it 2-1.

Connelly tied it 2-2 at 7:23 of the third with a sharp-angled shot.
