Patriots WR A.J. Brown, RB TreVeyon Henderson among 3 ruled out for Dolphins game

Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown and running back TreVeyon Henderson have been ruled out for Sunday’s game at Miami.
Brown and Henderson were among those listed as questionable on Friday. The Patriots also ruled out backup offensive tackle Marcus Bryant, who has been designated to return off injured reserve but not activated to the 53-man roster.
Brown hurt his knee during Wednesday’s practice, after which he was listed with a knee injury on the Patriots’ practice report for the first time this season. He did not practice Thursday or Friday. Henderson, who is dealing with an illness, also missed practice Thursday and Friday.
Without them, the Patriots have lost significant big-play ability and depth on offense. The Patriots are down to DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism III and Kyle Williams at receiver, with practice-squad wideouts Ryan Miller, Cameron Dorner, Kyle Dixon and Chandler Brayboy all candidates to be elevated to the game-day roster.
At running back, Rhamondre Stevenson and Corey Kiner are still available, while second-year back Lan Larison, who was elevated for the season opener at Seattle, might also come up from the practice squad.
“Everybody comes in and prepares as a starter. We’ve had to use guys from the practice squad, and if needed, we’ll have one of those guys ready,” Patriots coach Mike Vrabel said Friday. “I know that they all are. Whether that be somebody like Lan Larison or somebody that’s been on the offensive line that has to be ready to come up. We’ve seen that with defensive players. So that’s nothing new for us. And we’ll see where we’re at tomorrow.”
Cornerback Carlton Davis (neck) and linebacker Christian Elliss (chest) are still listed as questionable for kickoff.
The Patriots (4-3) are slated as 7-point favorites against the Dolphins, who are 1-5 after picking up their first win last weekend against the Jets.
