Falcons' James Pearce Jr. arrested on domestic violence, stalking charges in Miami

MIAMI — A Saturday arrest video out of Doral got increased virality once Miami-Dade online arrest and court records identified the man arrested as 6-foot-5 Atlanta Falcons defensive end James Pearce Jr.
As of noon Sunday, Pearce, 22, remained in Miami-Dade Corrections’ Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. The listed charges in online court records are two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated stalking. The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office’s felony domestic crimes unit will handle the case.
Pearce’s ex-girlfriend is WNBA Los Angeles Sparks star Rickea Jackson, who’s spending her offseason in the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league that plays its games at Medley’s Sephora Arena. Pearce and Jackson met during their time at the University of Tennessee. WPLG-Channel 10 reported that Doral police identified Jackson as the alleged victim.
Pearce got arrested near Northwest 66th Street and Northwest 103rd Passage after crashing into at least one car.
No arrest affidavit has been released yet describing the details of the alleged domestic incident between Pearce and Jackson that brought Doral officers to the scene.
After 10 sacks in the last nine games of the season, Pearce was voted a finalist for the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year Award eventually won this week by Cleveland Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger.
