MINNEAPOLIS — The NBA, like a lot of fans, thinks the Timberwolves are going to be among the most entertaining teams to watch next season.

In the full 2026-27 schedule the league put out Thursday, the new-look Wolves, with Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball as the starting backcourt, are slated for 27 nationally televised games across the league’s various partners (NBC/Peacock, Amazon and ABC/ESPN).

The Wolves are also featured on some of the league’s highlighted national broadcast days, with a Christmas home game against the Thunder, a Martin Luther King Jr. Day matchup with the Knicks and a Presidents’ Day game in Charlotte against Ball’s former team, the Hornets.

One of the hottest Wolves tickets for the season figures to be when Charlotte comes to Minnesota in what will be Naz Reid’s first game back in Target Center after the team dealt him as part of the trade package to acquire Ball and Josh Green. That game will be Jan. 29.

The Wolves will retire Kevin Garnett’s No. 21 in a matchup against Boston on Feb. 28. After years of estrangement from the franchise, Garnett rejoined the organization as a team ambassador last year and will finally have his number hanging in the Target Center rafters. The Celtics retired his No. 5 in 2022. Garnett will become the second person in Wolves history to have his jersey retired, joining Malik Sealy (No. 2).

Among other highlighted home games: Karl-Anthony Towns returns to Target Center for a third time, this time as a defending NBA champion with the Knicks, on Nov. 19; and Julius Randle will be back with the Brooklyn Nets on Nov. 23.

LeBron James, Jaylen Brown and the star-studded 76ers come to Minnesota for their lone visit on March 13.

The Wolves have the longest homestand in team history, an eight-game stretch from Nov. 8-23.

The Wolves announced they will broadcast local games on streaming company DAZN and plan to make 15 of those games available for free. They have not announced the pricing for the rest of the games.

The Wolves have eight games on ESPN (Oct. 21 at Miami; Nov. 25 at Oklahoma City; Dec. 16 vs. Lakers; Jan. 22 at San Antonio; Jan. 27 vs. Nuggets; Jan. 29 vs. Charlotte; March 10 vs. Atlanta; and April 7 at Lakers).

There are eight on NBC (Dec. 28 at Nuggets; Jan. 5 at Houston; Jan. 18 at Knicks; Feb. 2 at Portland; Feb. 15 at Charlotte; Feb. 28 vs. Boston; March 2 at OKC; March 28 vs. OKC).

There are six on Prime (Dec. 31 vs. Nuggets; Jan. 7 at Raptors; Feb. 6 vs. Heat; Feb. 12 at Celtics; Feb. 18 vs. Spurs; and April 2 vs. Golden State); three on ABC (Dec. 25 vs. Thunder; March 7 at Nuggets; and March 13 vs. 76ers); and two on Peacock (Nov. 23 vs. Brooklyn and March 22 vs. Detroit).

The Wolves will meet old friend Reid on Jan. 29 when Charlotte is at Target Center. Ball returns to Charlotte on Presidents’ Day for an 11 a.m. Central tip-off.

There are four NBA games on that day, Feb. 15.

The Timberwolves face the Knicks at 4 p.m. in New York on Jan. 18, which is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

New York won the league championship last season behind Jalen Brunson and former Wolves All-Star Towns.

The game is part of an NBA quadrupleheader and will be played at Madison Square Garden.

All NBA teams will have four preliminary games in the Emirates NBA Cup, the in-season tournament won last season by the Knicks, who went on to claim the NBA title.

Teams are divided into groups of five based on last year’s win-loss records, with eight teams (three wild cards) advancing to the knockout stage.

The Wolves will open on Oct. 30 at Target Center against the Clippers, play at New Orleans on Nov. 6, be at Oklahoma City on Nov. 25 and play host to Memphis on Nov. 27.

Quarterfinals are Dec. 4-5, semifinals Dec. 8-9 and the NBA Cup championship game is Dec. 11 in Indianapolis.

Teams that don’t qualify for the knockout stage will have two games added to their regular season schedules.

The Wolves have six preseason games, starting with a game against the Bucks on Oct. 5 in Milwaukee.

The lone home game is Oct. 14 against Detroit at Target Center.

They’ll play Indiana on Oct. 7 in Ames, Iowa; at Miami on Oct. 10; against the Knicks in Madison Square Garden on Oct. 12; and the Bulls at United Center in Chicago on Oct. 16.
