Pistons edge Trail Blazers on Duncan Robinson's late-game heroics

DETROIT — Duncan Robinson made his third 3-point field goal with 2:35 left in the fourth quarter. His basket not only tied the game at 110 but also helped the Detroit Pistons maintain their composure during a frustrating night with the officials.

A few possessions later, Robinson connected on another significant 3-point field goal, which led to the Pistons securing a 122-116 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night at Little Caesars Arena. Robinson scored eight of his 14 points in the final period. He also added seven rebounds and two steals.

Cade Cunningham led the way for Detroit with 28 points, nine assists and six rebounds. Jalen Duren added 18 points and eight rebounds. Ausar Thompson recorded 15 points, four rebounds and two assists.

 

Deni Avdija led the Trail Blazers with 35 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Former Pistons forward Jerami Grant contributed with 27 points and five rebounds.
