1/3 cup hoisin sauce, Asian chili sauce with garlic OR oyster sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari
2 tablespoons unseasoned rice vinegar
2 teaspoons dark sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, optional
For the meat mixture:
2 tablespoons expeller pressed canola oil, safflower or sunflower oil
1/2 small yellow onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons finely grated fresh ginger or refrigerated ginger puree
