'ARTHUR THE KING'

Rated PG-13 for some strong language.

What it’s about: The inspirational true story of a street dog who connects with a group of adventure racers, following them hundreds of miles on a harrowing trek.

The kid attractor factor: This is aimed more at adults but could be a fun watch for older kids who love dogs.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Perseverance is a virtue, even when it comes with suffering. Compassion for all creatures is a reward in itself.

Violence: Some harrowing and dangerous situations.

Language: Some strong language throughout.

Sex: None

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: This inspirational story is appropriate for older kids and teens.

'ONE LIFE'

Rated PG for thematic material, smoking and some language.

What it’s about: The true story of Sir Nicholas Winton, a British stockbroker who saved hundreds of Czechoslovakian children from the Holocaust.

The kid attractor factor: This is more of an adult drama but could appeal to kids with an interest in this period of history.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Do the right thing simply because it is the right thing to do.

Violence: Some harrowing situations with aggressive Gestapo guards.

Language: None

Sex: None

Drugs: Smoking

Parents’ advisory: This drama might be too sedate and serious for kids but the material is fine for older kids and teens.
