This is a great attacking game to play over, so here’s the first part leading up to the diagram: Stein,Leonid - Liberzon,Vladimir Mikhailovi ZSK International–07 Erevan Yerevan 1965. 1.e4 d6 2.d4 Nf6 3.Nc3 g6 4.f4 Bg7 5.Nf3 0–0 6.e5 Nfd7 7.h4 c5 8.h5 cxd4 9.Qxd4 dxe5 10.Qf2 e6? (10...e4!) 11.hxg6 fxg6 12.Qg3 exf4 13.Bxf4 Qa5 14.Bd2 Nf6 15.Bc4 Nc6 16.0–0–0 Qc5 17.Qh4 Nh5 18.Ne4! Qb6 (18...Qxc4 19.Nf6+ wins) 19.c3 Na5 20.Be2 h6 21.g4 Nf4 22.Bxf4 Rxf4 23.Rd8+ Rf8 (23...Kh7 24.Neg5 mate; 23...Kf7 24.Nd6+; 23...Bf8 24.Qxh6 wins)and now we have our diagram.


24.Nf6+! Kh8 24...Kf7 25.Ne5+ Ke7 26.Nd5#; 24...Bxf6 25.Rxf8+ Kxf8 26.Qxf6+ 25.Qxh6+! and Black resigned because of 25.Qxh6+ Bxh6+ 26.Rxh6+ Kg7 27.Rh7+ Kxf6 28.Rxf8#
