Published in Chess Puzzles

This Silver level position is one the key positions all chess players must know. Black can draw by following a simple rule.

1...Rg6 2.Rc7 Kd8 3.Rh7 Ra6 4.e6 Ra1 The rule is this: Keep your rook on your third rank until your opponent pushes the pawn to it and then drop to the first rank where you will have checks that your opponent’s king can’t hide from.
