Trump returning to Las Vegas next week to promote his tax policies, White House says

President Donald Trump is traveling to Las Vegas next week to promote his administration’s Working Families Tax Cuts, his second such appearance in the valley this year, the White House said.

Trump is slated to again highlight the tax provision of the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act he signed into law. The legislation included tax deductions for the U.S. workforce.

“By passing no tax on tips, no tax on Social Security, and no tax on overtime, President Trump and Republicans guaranteed Americans receive bigger paychecks and keep more of their hard-earned money,” said Liz Huston, White House regional press secretary, in a statement. “The President will remind Nevadans that every single Democrat opposed these common sense reforms and fought to massively raise taxes on working families.”

The White House didn’t immediately reveal the venue Trump will speak from or his planned arrival date, a common security-related practice for presidential visits.

Criticizing the visit, Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Daniele Monroe-Moreno tied the president to Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo, whom Trump has endorsed for re-election. Lombardo faces Democratic Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford in November’s governor’s race.

“Joe Lombardo’s ‘commanding officer’ Donald Trump is coming to town next week while Nevadans are getting crushed by sky-high grocery, utility, housing, and health care bills,” she said in a statement. “As Trump’s approval ratings sink underwater by double digits in Nevada, Lombardo continues to ignore the reality that working families are facing and cave to the president’s cost-raising agenda every chance he gets.”

Lombardo’s campaign did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

Meanwhile, the Republican National Committee celebrated Trump’s planned visit.

“Under President Trump, Republicans have delivered landmark policies like No Tax on Tips, Overtime and Social Security that is lowering costs and restoring the American Dream for Nevadans,” said Nicholas Poche, regional RNC communications director, in a statement. He also attacked “do-nothing Democrats.”

Last in Las Vegas in April

Trump was last in Las Vegas on April 16, when he participated in a roundtable discussion with a few workers in a packed ballroom at the AC Hotel Las Vegas Symphony Park.

A large “NO TAX ON TIPS” banner served as the stage’s backdrop.

The president has credited a Las Vegas campaign stop for the birth of his no tax on tips proposal after a waitress proposed it at a dinner here.

Trump, whose namesake Trump International Hotel sits just off the Las Vegas Strip, held multiple campaign events in Southern Nevada during the run-up to his 2024 re-election.

He spoke in downtown Las Vegas shortly after his second inauguration, having defeated former Vice President Kamala Harris and sweeping all seven swing states, including Nevada.

The upcoming visit will come a few months before the midterm elections, when Republicans are trying to maintain majorities in Congress.

Neither Nevada U.S. Senate seat is up for grabs in November, but four U.S. House seats are, three of them held by Democrats.

Earlier this year, Trump endorsed Nevada state Sen. Carrie Ann Buck, R-Clark County, who is running against Rep. Dina Titus, and award-winning composer Marty O’Donnell, who is running against Rep. Susie Lee.
