Three Disneyland visitors were injured when a lamppost on Main Street USA fell during high winds and toppled onto a walkway near the entrance to the Anaheim theme park, according to Anaheim Fire officials.

Due to high winds, a light pole blew over on Main Street USA just before 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, and injured a few guests, including one who was transported to the hospital, according to Disneyland officials.

Anaheim Fire and Rescue transported one person with serious injuries to the hospital and two other people were treated at the scene and released, according to Anaheim Fire spokesperson Sgt. Jon McClintock.

Emergency personnel transported an elderly woman by stretcher who was struck on the head by the lamppost while another visitor sat on a park bench with a bandaged head, according to WDW News Today.

A high wind warning remained in effect for inland Orange County on Monday with Santa Ana winds ranging from 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

The lamppost in a flower bed around the Disneyland flag pole is used for stage lighting for parades and shows along Main Street USA.

The lamppost was removed just after 10 a.m. as Disneyland used Main Street USA vehicles to block off the half of Town Square next to the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln opera house from pedestrian traffic, according to WDW News Today.

The park remained open and visitors arriving and exiting were directed along the west side of Town Square closest to Disneyland City Hall.

The health and safety of Disneyland guests and cast members remains a top priority, according to Disneyland officials.
