NHL: Edmonton 3, Tampa Bay 2

TAMPA, Fla. (UPI) -- Zack Stortini put Edmonton in front midway through the second period Wednesday and the Oilers held on to defeat Tampa Bay 3-2.

Neither side could score after Stortini put a wrist shot past Mike Smith with 8:53 remaining in the second. Tampa Bay went on to lose for the sixth time in seven games.

Edmonton has won four in a row, all on the road.

Jeff Deslauries stopped 32-of-34 shots to get the win. He has been in goal for all of the victories in Edmonton's current winning streak and has given up no more than two scores in any of them.

Tom Gilbert and Dustin Penner also scored for the Oilers. Edmonton has won its last two meetings with the Lightning after losing the previous four.
