MLB: Colorado 8, San Diego 1

DENVER (UPI) -- Homers by Garrett Atkins, Troy Tulowitzki and Yorvit Torrealba accounted for six runs Wednesday, sending the Colorado Rockies to an 8-1 decision over San Diego.

Colorado won its second in a row after having lost eight straight. The Padres had ended an eight-game losing streak in the opening game of this series.

Atkins hit a three-run homer as part of a four-run second inning, Tulowitzki had a two-run shot in the third and Torrealba contributed a solo blast in the eighth.

That allowed Ubaldo Jimenez (3-8) to coast to a victory. He gave up a run on five hits over 6 1/3 innings.

Randy Wolf (5-8) was roughed up for seven runs on six hits in four innings.

After scoring a season-high 15 runs to open the series, the Padres managed only one over the next two games.
