MLB: LA Dodgers 4, Houston 1

HOUSTON (UPI) -- Hiroki Kuroda threw seven shutout innings in his return from the disabled list Wednesday, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers past Houston 4-1.

Kuroda (4-6) gave up five hits and walked one. He made his first start since going on the disabled list June 13 with tendinitis in his right shoulder.

The Dodgers, who have won five of their last six road games, scored single runs in four of the first five innings.

Jeff Kent doubled home a run in both the first and the third and Andre Ethier contributed a homer in the fifth.

Houston did not score until Carlos Lee lofted a home run in the ninth.

Runelvys Hernandez (0-2) allowed all four runs on six hits over five innings to take the loss.
