MLB: LA Angels 4, N.Y. Yankees 3

NEW YORK (UPI) -- Reggie Willits hit a sacrifice fly in a three-run seventh inning Sunday as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim edged the New York Yankees 4-3.

The victory gave the AL West-leading Angels a three-game sweep at Yankee Stadium.

Mike Napoli, Erick Aybar and Chone Figgins also had one RBI each, and Howie Kendrick had a run and two hits. Aybar and Figgins drew bases-loaded walks preceding Willits' sacrifice fly for the Angels, who had dropped two of three at Detroit before the sweep.

Winner John Lackey (8-3) allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks in eight innings with two walks. He struck out four. Francisco Rodriguez earned his 16th save.

Wil Nieves hit two RBI singles and Melky Cabrera hit a sacrifice fly for New York. Nieves was the only player with more than one hit for the Yankees, who have lost seven of their last 10 games.

The loser was Scott Proctor (0-2).
