Kirill Kaprizov has four-point night to lead Wild to 4-1 victory over Sharks

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The reeling Sharks tested the rolling Wild … but not enough to change either’s momentum.
In their return home from sweeping a two-game road trip, the Wild pulled away late for a 4-1 victory over San Jose on Friday at Grand Casino Arena that extended their recent tear to 6-0-1.
Kirill Kaprizov scored his NHL-leading 16th goal during a four-point night. Quinn Hughes had three points, including a goal, and Jesper Wallstedt made 23 saves in his 11th victory, which is also tops in the league.
Hughes passed off to Kaprizov for a one-timer to give the Wild a 1-0 lead on the power play, but the Sharks’ Macklin Celebrini continued to torment the Wild with a deflection through traffic for the equalizer; the goal was Celebrini’s eighth in seven career games vs. the Wild.
But then Kaprizov played playmaker on the power play, taking a pass from Hughes and forwarding it to Max Shabanov for the redirect. The Wild penalty kill also shined, going 3-for-3.
During the third period, Hughes buried a seeing-eye shot to derail San Jose, which has dropped four in a row.
Zach Bogosian added a fourth goal, his first of the season, by walking into a puck off the boards.
The Wild (12-3-3) are back in action Saturday night at Grand Casino Arena against the Lightning.
