DETROIT — The Detroit Red Wings stayed resilient Saturday and it helped them get two points in the standings.

Lucas Raymond, who hasn't scored a goal in regulation time this season, scored the lone goal in the shootout, as the Wings defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-3.

The Wings killed an overtime power play for San Jose, extending the game into the shootout. The Sharks were 2 for 6 on the power play, the Wings' 1 for 4.

Alex DeBrincat tied the game 4-4 at 18:27, his fifth goal, earning the Wings at least one point. DeBrincat lifted a bouncing puck past Sharks goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic, after the Wings had pulled goaltender John Gibson (32 saves).

The Wings (3-3-2, eight points) closed out the home-heavy, seven of eight games at Little Caesars Arena portion of the schedule with a 3-3-1 record. The only road game was a shootout loss in Montreal.

Ivar Stenberg's power play goal at 2 minutes 48 seconds of the third period gave San Jose a 3-1 lead. But Emmitt Finnie quickly answered, driving to the net and knocking in a pass from Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, cutting San Jose's lead to 3-2 at the 5-minute mark, Finnie's third goal.

Macklin Celebrini (one goal, two assists) broke a 1-1 tie with his third goal. William Wallinder's attempted pass was intercepted by Michael Kesserling along the boards, who fed Will Smith down low, and Smith teed up Celebrini for a blast in the slot, at 4:55 of the second period.

Justin Faulk (power play) opened the Wings' scoring. Dmitry Orlov (power play) had San Jose's opening goal.

Faulk opened the game's scoring in the first period with his second goal, on the power play. Faulk lifted a shot from the high slot that eluded Nedeljkovic, who was screened by Michael Rasmussen at 12:45.

But the Sharks evened the score with Orlov's power play goal. Celebrini set Orlov for a one-timer that just got between Gibson and the goalpost, Orlov's first goal, at 17:59.
