BALTIMORE — With Lamar Jackson headed to injured reserve and uncertainty over how long backup Tyler Huntley will be sidelined, the Ravens continued adding to their quarterback room on Tuesday.

Baltimore signed Kedon Slovis from the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad to its 53-man roster, the team announced. He joins undrafted rookie free agent Joe Fagnano, who will start Thursday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Slovis, 25, was the Arizona Cardinals’ backup last season and appeared in two games after Kyler Murray suffered a season-ending foot injury. A former undrafted free agent out of BYU in 2024, he attempted just two passes.

He also previously worked with Ravens quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork, who held the same position in Arizona. Ravens wide receivers coach Keary Colbert was also with Slovis during the quarterback’s time at USC — Slovis played for the Trojans and Pittsburgh before ending his college career at BYU.

The move comes a day after Baltimore also signed Austin Reed to its practice squad.

Jackson suffered a thumb injury on the Ravens’ first offensive play in Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills and did not return. Coach Jesse Minter said Jackson will undergo surgery on the potentially season-ending injury and will be placed on injured reserve, meaning he will miss at least the next four games.

Huntley entered the game but lasted only a few more series before suffering what has been reported as turf toe. Minter did not have an update on Huntley’s status or how long he could be out. Depending on the severity of the injury, Huntley could be sidelined for a couple of weeks or several months.

The Ravens (4-4) have lost their last three games and are in last place in the AFC North.

The Ringer was the first to report Slovis’ signing.
